I Do Not Love the Way You Lie

In class today we analyzed an article by Stephanie Ericsson titled "The Ways We Lie", in which the author breaks down all different types of lying and examples of each. In her conclusion she explains that everyone lies one way or the other and there is not much you can do about it.

We were asked to respond  by answering the question: What did you take away the most from the article?

By realizing how many types of lies there are, makes me very aware of myself  and very skeptical of others. In my head I'm thinking about what kind of lies i use. I consider myself a honest person to the point where i have to make right even the smallest white lie or else it will weigh heavily on my conscious.

But to think that i could lie   accidentally sounds stressful to deal  with because i cant just ignore my dishonesty whether I'm conscious of it or not. I feel the obligation to manage my honesty and essentially eliminate deceitfulness altogether. But according to Ericsson that is impossible and it makes me question myself and others, so with much thought i decided I'm not going to worry about it as much as my instinct wants me too. I value honesty and  because of that i tend to give others the benefit of the doubt,However, I'm not a doe eyed Bambi. I am aware that the world is not as truthful as i would hope it to be but i choose to believe in  it regardless.
